Their First son was born and the king named him “Vikranta” meaning “One who possess great valor and courage. Mandalasa used to sing lullabies with vedic teachings and about Atma Gyana.He became self-realized, lost interest in ruling the kingdom and went to the forest as a sanyasi for Meditation and salavation.Second Son was born and King Named him “Subahu” meaning “One who possess powerful and beautiful hands and shoulders.He too took the advise of his mother and went to forest as a sanyasi for salvation and meditation.Third son was born the king name him “Shatrumardana” meaning “One who conquers his enemies”.The same story he too went to forest losing interest in kingdom as a sanyasi When King used to select the names, the Queen Mandalasa used to laugh at the King’s naming method. Then the 4th son was born and this time the king asked the Queen to name the son. She named her 4th Son as “ALARKA” and chanted the verse “चिरं जीवतु धर्मात्मा”” (Long Live by observing righteousness). The King was shocked at this name because the name “Alarka” means a “Mad Dog”.Mandalasa clarifies that : You are Not the Body and Body is not You. Remain as the Nameless Awareness and there can be no mental conflicts with what ever happens! Thus be Free, Just Be Your Self ! OM TAT SAT OM"! The King then pleads with the Queen saying ‘ Iam getting old and you have made all three sons to become sanyasi and who will take over the kingdom from me. Mandalasa then teaches Raja Dharma, Varnashrama Dharma and Grihasta Dharma to Alarka and makes him the king.She advises him to be a Learned Scholar as a Model King, an Ideal Kshatriya,a Warrior and also prove him self as a good grihastha husband and father to his family considering the citizens as his children. She presents him with a Golden Ring which has a secret message engraved inside called Mandalasa Rahasya,meaning Secret and advises him to open the locket on the day he is faced with many problems and does not know how to solve them.
After many years King Alarka faced many financial and serious problems in his kingdom and he remembered his mother’s advice to open the ring.He noticed the minute letters engraved inside the golden ring she gave him. As he opened the script, the advice of his mother was very clear: Sangah Sarvaatmanaa Thyajyah Sa Chetyaktum Na Shakyathey (If you are not capable to solve any problem, then you need to exit the Society. If you are not able to leave the Society, then you should join the Sadhus (righteous men), since the company of Sadhus alone would prove to be your medicine. 1 शुद्धोसि बुद्धोसि निरँजनोऽसि सँसारमाया परिवर्जितोऽसि सँसारस्वप्नँ त्यज मोहनिद्राँ मँदालसोल्लपमुवाच पुत्रम्।
Meaning:
You are forever pure, You are forever true.
This dream of this world cannot touch you
So wake up from this illusion and give up your attachment.
This is the advice from your mother Mandalasa to you,my son
2- शुद्धोऽसि रे तात न तेऽस्ति नाम कृतँ हि तत्कल्पनयाधुनैव। पच्चात्मकँ देहँ इदँ न तेऽस्ति नैवास्य त्वँ रोदिषि कस्य हेतो॥
Meaning: My Child, You do not have a name. A name is only an imaginary superimposition on you This body made of five elements is not you, nor you belong to them. Then why are you crying?
3 न वै भवान् रोदिति विक्ष्वजन्मा शब्दोयमायाध्य महीश सूनूम्। विकल्पयमानो विविधैर्गुणैस्ते गुणाश्च भौताः सकलेन्दियेषु॥
Meaning: The essence of the universe does not cry in reality. It is all Maya of words, please understand this. The various qualities you seem to have, are only your imaginations, they belong to the elements that make the senses and have nothing to do with you.
4 भूतनि भूतैः परिदुर्बलानि वृद्धिँ समायाति यथेह पुँसः। अन्नाम्बुपानादिभिरेव तस्मात् न तेस्ति वृद्धिर् न च तेस्ति हानिः॥
Meaning: The Elements that make your body grow with the accumulation of more elements or reduce in size if some elements are removed. Your body made of these elements will also change or decay but the inner self Atman is beyond these attributes, untouched and pure.This is the reason ,you should not cry my son
5 त्वम् कँचुके शीर्यमाणे निजोस्मिन् तस्मिन् देहे मूढताँ मा व्रजेथाः। शुभाशुभौः कर्मभिर्देहमेतत् मृदादिभिः कँचुकस्ते पिनद्धः॥
Meaning: You are in the body which is like a jacket that gets worn out day by day. Do not have the wrong notion that you are the body. This body is like a jacket that you are tied to, for the sake of of good and bad karmas
6 तातेति किँचित् तनयेति किँचित् अँबेति किँचिद्धयितेति किँचित्। ममेति किँचित् न ममेति किँचित् त्वम् भूतसँघँ बहु म नयेथाः॥
Meaning: Some may call you as Father and others may call you as Son or some others may say “you are mine” and others may say “you are not mine” These are all references to this “Combination of Physical Five Elements”, Please Do Not identify yourself with them.
7 सुखानि दुःखोपशमाय भोगान् सुखाय जानाति विमूढचेताः। तान्येव दुःखानि पुनः सुखानि जानाति विद्धनविमूढचेताः॥
Meaning: When you look at objects of enjoyments as giving happiness it is only by removing the unhappiness. When you get detached and wiser you will clearly see that the same object which gave you happiness, now will become a source of unhappiness and you will get entangled with suffering in this cycle of birth and death.
8 यानँ चित्तौ तत्र गतश्च देहो देहोपि चान्यः पुरुषो निविष्ठः। ममत्वमुरोया न यथ तथास्मिन् देहेति मात्रँ बत मूढरौष।
Meaning: The vehicle that moves on the ground is different from the person in it, similarly this body is also different from the person, the Supreme Self, called “Purusha” who is seated inside the body.The owner of the body is different from the body! How foolish it is to think you are the body!

As a King ,If you are not capable to solve your problems, then you need to exit the Society.
